He was a rock and roll pioneer, and unfortunately, he never made enough money or got enough credit by the public. But the artists he influenced knew who he was. Everyone from Buddy Holly to the Rolling Stones owed him a debt of gratitude for moving the powerful music we call rock ‘n’ roll forward.
