A moment of silence, please, for Michael Crichton

Michael Crichton

Michael Crichton passed away this week. Crichton, the creator of “ER” and author of “The Andromeda Strain” and “Jurassic Park,” was one of the great popularizers of science and science fiction.

He was also an enemy of pseudo-science and the politicization of science such as we see in the so-called “crisis” of global warming. His novel “State of Fear,” outlines how governments have created a climate where questioning the current science orthodoxy is still, centuries after Galileo, frowned upon and at times, dangerous. He will be missed.
