Elkhart Review Editor in Independent Documentary Video

Our Founder

Last Tuesday, I was interviewed by three young people from Los Angeles: Erik Lang, Julie Mintz and Staci Cross, who are producing an independent documentary about the current presidential campaign.  We met in the cozy front corner of The Daily Grind for about 90 minutes and talked about the campaign, my political point of view, my concerns about the future of capitalism vs. the far left socialist Obama agenda, etc.

These three young people are making the documentary independently, at their own expense, and wanted to get some impressions from other parts of the country, i.e., not the coasts.  Although I believe they are Obama supporters, their approach was very neutral, with no leading/baiting questions, and really, a very pleasant conversation .  I’m not sure I was quite what they expected from an avowed conservative.  Perhaps that’s because I’m not a typical conservative, but really lean more libertarian.  Whether they expected me to be a fire-breathing Bible pounding ultra-patriot, I don’t know, but that’s not what they got.  And from what I could tell, they appreciated the time I spent with them.  They interviewed at least one other local person (an Obama supporter I won’t name here), before moving on.  They were also going to shoot some video of the “Obama Barn” on CR 17.

The documentary will probably be done sometime in January.  I hope it gets an audience, regardless of how it slants politically. The more openly and honestly we discuss important issues, the better it is for all of us.

Some of Erik’s other documentary work can be found here. Staci Cross’ actress page on imdb.com is here. Info on Julie Mintz on imdb.com is here. Julie is also a singer/songwriter, and some of her work can be found on Amazon.com.  All three can be located on Facebook, if you’re so inclined.

I’ll post more news about the documentary if and when I hear more.
